Craftsy is looking for a Manager of Strategy & Analytics to help turn a wealth of Craftsy financial and business data into actionable knowledge and insights. The Manager will join our Analytics team to specifically focus on initiatives that improve the financials and operations of both our overall business and individual functions. We’re looking for someone who wants to solve complex problems every day and who has the drive and ability to act and deliver in a fast-paced, challenging, and results-oriented environment.
 
As our Manager of Strategy & Analytics, you will:
  • Be a self-starter who takes initiative to diagnose, escalate, and address key opportunities and issues as they arise across the business
  • Lead efforts to solve strategic functional and operational challenges across our digital and physical retail business
  • Work alongside functional leaders to identify, prioritize, and tackle key analytics opportunities related to finance, business development, marketing, ecommerce, and production, among others
  • Develop and deliver critical financial/operating metrics and reporting to highlight trends and insights from recent business performance
  • Manage complex, often ambiguous, problems in a thoughtful and structured way that begins with the end in mind
  • Develop hypotheses and structure analyses to produce data-driven insights that drive meaningful decisions and have tangible impact on the business
  • Craft clear, impactful communications and presentations tailored for a wide variety of audiences, particularly senior management
  • Prioritize and effectively communicate the balance of immediate needs, longer-term initiatives, and smaller projects among relevant audiences
  • Build strong personal relationships to identify and strengthen connections between efforts underway across the company
  • Develop credibility and trust through results and an ongoing commitment to become an expert on our business model, systems and data
Your background and experience should include, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
Required Qualifications
  • Experience solving complex problems in a high-visibility, high-stakes environment where daily decisions have measurable impact on the business
  • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and fluid team environment
  • Frequent application of advanced Excel/financial modeling skills
  • Detailed analysis of large amounts of data that translated into insights and/or decisions that produced measurable and meaningful outcomes
  • Demonstration of well-honed critical thinking skills and the ability to deconstruct problems into discrete, logical components
  • Capacity to work well independently and function with incomplete information
  • Strong soft-skills, particularly a proven ability to build relationships and manage by influence
  • Leadership and management of cross-functional efforts from idea to completion
  • Engagement with and presentation to executive and senior leaders
  • Concise and impactful written/verbal communications delivered to a variety of audiences across all levels of the organization
  • History of assuming personal ownership for others’ success
  • A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in a quantitative discipline (preferably Business, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Engineering)
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in management consulting or similar field
  • Advanced degrees
  • Advanced SQL, data modeling, business statistics, and experience conducting complex quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
