What you'll do:

Billtrust is seeking an energetic, positive Development Manager to bring software leadership to our team charged with building and supporting our Software-as-a-Service Cash Application platform. Reporting to our Vice President of Development, you will be responsible for all aspects of the platform including SaaS delivery, web services, database design, and security protocols. You must be able to work in a fast-paced Agile environment and collaborate cross-functionally to determine feasibility of design, ensure code quality and deliver releases. You will manage and grow a talented team tasked with solving complex problems within a high-growth product-centric environment.

  • Plan and direct activities associated with creating software for our Cash Application platform
  • Manage, develop and advocate for a talented group of engineers
  • Lead efforts to deliver software products on time and within budget while collaborating with Quality Engineering, Product Strategy, IT/Ops, Professional Services, and other teams
  • Maintain technical ownership to design, develop and secure high-quality software products in an Microsoft/.NET environment
  • Be an advocate for Agile delivery and help drive teams towards Continuous Integration (CI)
  • Work closely with product development to ensure requirements are implemented in a timely manner
  • Serve as an active member of the Architecture Committee to ensure software, underlying workflows, and changes

What you'll bring to the team:
  • Proven success in leading fast-paced software development teams delivering commercial software; 7+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading Agile/SCRUM teams to architect, code and support online products
  • Ability to recruit, train and lead each team member to reach their potential
  • Ability to define development standards and methodologies for existing software teams
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with various technical team leaders and members
  • Ability to balance technology with the needs of the business, and a demonstrated ability to communicate up
  • Relevant experience in Visual Studio, C# and SQL Server
  • Experience in some of the following nice-to-have: Angular, Azure or similar, Jenkins or a similar Continuous Integration (CI) tool, Machine Learning (ML) or Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions
  • Experience building behavior-driven development tests for desired business behavior
  • Well-honed skills in source control management using Git or similar
  • Ability to design and implement REST APIs
  • Scrum Master certifications (CSM) nice-to-have
  • Experience in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), software, payments or product-centric business preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related (or equivalent experience)
