Craftsy is looking for a highly motivated creative and critical thinker with an insatiable drive to turn data into strategies for exponential growth and operational excellence to join the Craftsy team as a Manager of eCommerce Analytics. Using your strong quantitative and analytical skills, you will guide and influence strategies in all areas of our business. You will identify and research business problems and turn data into insights using statistical, financial, data mining and visualization techniques. You will work with the Director of Strategy & Planning and other eCommerce leadership to turn those insights into actionable strategies across a variety of high-profile initiatives, such as working capital deployment, margin optimization, product selection and development, category and market expansion, supply chain forecasting and competitive positioning. You will be expected to propose innovative ways to look at complex problems by using analytically and logically sound approaches to develop strategic recommendations to drive the company’s long-term success. You will effectively deconstruct complicated problems into discrete, logical components and reach conclusions in a mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive manner.
 
In this role you will:
  • Analyze data, design and conduct tests and develop persuasive fact-based and data-supported recommendations that will inform and guide business growth and optimization strategies.
  • Develop credibility and trust through results and an ongoing commitment to become an expert on our business model, systems and data.
  • Scope and manage complex data analysis projects utilizing statistical, data mining and visualization techniques, and provide and synthesize data from multiple sources both on-demand and ongoing that is accurate, congruent and relevant to the strategic objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership and take independent initiative in information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management, clearly communicating results and recommendations verbally, visually and in writing.
  • Work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact strategic opportunities and business insights across a variety of the core business areas, while challenging and expanding the thinking of everyone around you.
  • Build strong personal relationships to identify and strengthen connections between efforts underway across the company.
  • Build, maintain and update tools, databases, dashboards and reports to support sound analytical decisions throughout the eCommerce business, ensuring that information is easily available and understandable to users for direct consumption or integration with other reports. 
 
Your background and experience will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Bachelors Degree required in a quantitative discipline or with intensive quantitative professional experience. Masters Degree or 2-5 years experience in a management consulting, finance or similar environment preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience devising and executing complex strategic analyses to support executive decisions in a high-visibility, high-stakes environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a bias toward action and a track record of creating measurable and meaningful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and explain complex analyses and translate those into strategic insights that are easily understood and accepted by all levels of management.
  • Able to work effectively both alone and in teams in a fast-paced, collaborative and iterative environment working with energetic high-performers.
  • Highly capable of managing a varied workload with multiple competing priorities, including a diversity of both time-sensitive and longer term projects often with minimal daily oversight.
  • Advanced data modeling and business statistics experience required. SQL proficiency strongly preferred. Experience with Looker and NetSuite a plus.
  • Advanced MS Office skills required, with experience using Excel to build complex models and PowerPoint to create management presentations.
