We are looking for a highly motivated analytical and creative thinker with an insatiable drive to turn data into strategy and strategy into execution to join Craftsy as a Manager of Analytics and Strategy for our eCommerce business. You will work directly with the Director of Strategy & Planning and other eCommerce leadership to design, develop, and operationalize strategies across a variety of high-profile initiatives, contributing to our rapid and profitable growth as we reinvent retail in the crafting space. You will be expected to utilize your strong quantitative and research skills to identify and analyze opportunities and risks; use good business judgment to turn data insights into growth and optimization strategies; and support the execution of those strategies to drive the company’s long-term success. You will effectively deconstruct complicated problems into discrete, logical components and reach conclusions in a mutually exclusive, collectively exhaustive manner.
 
In this role you will:
  • Design, develop, test and execute strategies informed by rigorous analysis to drive growth, improve profitability and provide competitive advantage for Craftsy’s eCommerce business. 
  • Work with cross-functional team members to identify and prioritize actionable, high-impact strategic opportunities and business insights across a variety of the core business areas, while challenging and expanding the thinking of everyone around you.
  • Demonstrate leadership and take independent initiative in information gathering, structured documentation and presentation of findings to all levels of management, clearly communicating results and recommendations verbally, visually and in writing.
  • Develop credibility and trust through results and an ongoing commitment to become an expert on our business model, systems and data.
  • Scope and manage complex data analysis projects utilizing statistical, data mining and visualization techniques
  • Build strong personal relationships to identify and strengthen connections between efforts underway across the company.
 
Your background and experience will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Bachelor's Degree required with at least 5 years of business experience with increasing strategic responsibility, or an equivalent combination of experience and advanced education.
  • At least 2 years of experience devising and executing sophisticated quantitative and qualitative analyses to support business-critical executive decisions in a high-visibility, high-stakes environment.
  • Proven track record of solving challenging business problems from beginning to end, including research, analysis, business case development, presentation and approval of strategic recommendations, operational planning and execution.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a bias toward action and a track record of creating measurable and meaningful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and explain complex analyses and translate those into strategic insights that are easily understood and accepted by all levels of management.
  • Able to work effectively both alone and in teams in a fast-paced, collaborative and iterative environment working with energetic high-performers.
  • Highly capable of managing a varied workload with multiple competing priorities, including a diversity of both time-sensitive and longer term projects, often with minimal daily oversight.
  • Advanced MS Office skills required, with experience using Excel to build complex models and PowerPoint to create management presentations.
  • Advanced data modeling or applied business statistics experience required. 
  • SQL proficiency or related experience performing advanced database queries strongly preferred.
