Healthgrades is seeking an experienced technologist who has the right mix of engineering and leadership skills to drive a team of DevOps engineers in achieving excellence across the engineering, implementation and operations associated with multiple Healthgrades Data Engineering and Marketing Platforms products.  As the Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will have a desire to learn fast, cross over boundaries and drive innovation to help Healthgrades achieve success in product delivery for a highly integrated, multi-discipline engineering organization.
 
 
Your Role:

  • Lead all architecture/code design of environments across multiple product needs in Data Engineering and Marketing Platforms
  • You will lead and motivate a team of engineers to implement and deploy products that will directly affect the mission of Healthgrades.
  • Help build (hire) the DevOps team
  • You will be responsible for removing roadblocks to development through matching team skillsets with needs, identifying and creating process improvements.
  • You will drive agile SDLC best practices, continuous integration and delivery (CI-CD) in a squad as part of a progressive, agile organizational structure.
  • Hands on! You will commit code, perform code reviews, drive testing best practices.
  • Foster team growth through strong mentorship

 
What You Need to Succeed:

  • Enterprise experience (ideally startup experience too)
  • Experience creating complex build/staging environments from scratch
  • Strong experience with multiple OO languages - Python, Javascript (Node.js) and Java are most ideal
  • Strong experience with Cloud Services technologies ( Jenkins )
  • Expertise with at least one scripting language (ideally would be Python , PowerShell or Bash)
  • Docker & Kubernetes experience (or strong understanding of them with other container experience)
  • Strong Cloud platform experience ( AWS )
  • Experience across core data architecture frameworks, components and systems (ideally including direct experience with Kafka, Spark, various EDW platforms and various NoSQL platforms)
  • Strong understanding of microservices , networking principles (TCP/IP), and web development stacks (LEAN, MEAN, LEMP, etc...)
  • Being at the top of your game with a deep curiosity of the latest and greatest in technology and infrastructure. Bonus points for having a bias towards self-education of unknown territories.
  • Being an advocate for what is best for Healthgrades. You state your opinions candidly and collaboratively.
  • You have a test-and-learn mentality – you pivot quickly when an approach is not successful.
