As a Lead Network Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team collaborating daily with Xactlians in Product Management, DevOps, R&D, Engineering and Support. This position plays a key role in architecting, designing and implementing features within Xactly’s SaaS product.   
 
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the design and implementation of scalable multi-tenant services. They will have a track record of applying the right technology to the problem. This includes thinking and implementing outside the RDBMS application paradigm. This person will have a dynamic understanding of Java-based platform development for enterprise-level SaaS products.

Required Experience:
  • B.S. in Computer Science or another relevant technical field
  • Professional certification in at least one of the following: CCNP, CCIP, and JNCIP
  • 7+ years’ experience VPN’s, enterprise routing, and L3-7 switching
  • 7+ years’ experience in network infrastructure management working with routers, switches, load balancers, SSL acceleration technology, etc.
  • Professional-level experience developing resilient multi-site high-availability infrastructure, and disaster recovery network architectures
  • Professional understanding protocols such as DNS, RPC, HTTP et cetera
  • Expert understanding of BGP
Required Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage concurrent tasks and priorities
  • Self-sufficient and resourceful with the ability to work autonomously
  • Strongly versed in mixed vendor environments (e.g. Cisco, Juniper)
  • Skilled developing and deploying solutions on open source technology
  • Proven expertise and ability developing next generation infrastructure
  • Strong grasp on security concepts and put them into practice in a network environment
  • Experience with Firewall, IDS, DDoS, etc. strongly preferred
Responsibilities
  • Manage the operational design and support of Xactly’s SaaS infrastructure for our production networks
  • Lead architecture and design efforts for all customer facing production data center and backbone networks
  • Contribute to networking requirements and operational guidelines with a focus on scaling, automation, and continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot network communication problems as they relate to routing and switching
  • Correlate detected network events to identify potential problems or root causes
  • Assist application and system owners in troubleshooting problematic network dependent applications
  • Serve as an escalation point for all network related issues
  • Participate in projects that involve existing network infrastructure
  • Participate in a formal incident rapid response process for high priority incidents
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure that an incident’s underlying problems are managed and resolved
  • Stay attuned with existing network management change procedures
  • Available outside of normal business hours when required for monthly scheduled maintenance, outage response, and urgent requests
  • Create and manage network architecture documentation, standards and design and architecture documentation for new architecture and design
  • Some travel may be required
