Junior Front-End Developer / UX Website Designer
Rapt Media is a 2011 Techstars company and provides a cloud-based interactive video platform that enables enterprise companies and strategic solution providers to transform video content into response-provoking experiences. Our technology offers the ultimate in consumer control which drives deeper engagement, learning, and desired behaviors. Each interaction generates useful customer or product insights.
THE JOBWe are looking for a contractor with front-end development and UX design experience to work on specific project-based work for our website. We are looking for about 20 hours per month or five hours per week.
Development qualifications:
Front-end development experience
Strong, proven HTML5 and CSS3 skills
Basic understanding of CSS preprocessors such as LESS or SASS
Basic understanding of front-end performance tuning, best practices and techniques
Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
Basic understanding of SEO principles
Ability to accurately translate design comps into well-structured HTML and CSS
Proven responsive development skills
Desire to create modular, reusable and maintainable code
Design qualifications:
Basic understanding of grid systems, composition, typography, and color
Proven attention to detail
Strong conceptual and problem solving skills in order to see the larger picture and continually work toward that picture through even seemingly small or insignificant changes
Experience with Adobe Create Suite. Sketch experience is a plus
Bonus:
Git experience
Basic command line experience
Basic JavaScript skills (without jQuery) are strongly desired
