Job Description
OrthoFi is building a world-class team that is committed to “wow-ing” customers at every opportunity. We are looking for an Insurance Claims Lead who is excited to join a fast-paced startup. Candidate must be self-motivated, a self-starter, and love a challenge. The Claims Lead will support Insurance Coordinators as they perform claims processing services to multiple orthodontic offices located across the United Status. Responsibilities included but are not limited to the following:
Primary responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross functional team on continuous improvement projects related to processes and/or product improvements
Support patient/practice advocate groups when questions arise
Follow-up on notes from the practice
Attend management meetings and provide progress updates for the team
Responsible for team updates to ADP Time Tracker and PTO scheduling
Coach and mentor team members to success monthly and as needed to address production or quality concerns
Provide daily production information to the team
Assist in developing appropriate capacity models monthly
Secondary responsibilities:
File claims with various carriers and follow up on unpaid claims
Adjust payment plans for insurance underpayments or overpayments
Manage communications with practice staff
Communicate with various insurance carriers
Review carrier requests
Process any carrier refund requests
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and solve poorly defined problems
Insurance specific experience
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal and active listening
Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Documents
Have the ability to learn and utilize business related software systems
Must exhibit empathy and compassion
Ability to adapt to change quickly as well as show a sense of urgency
Strong judgment and decision making abilities
Natural curiosity with a strong aptitude to learn quickly
Very strong technical aptitude
Experience with processing medical insurance claims (orthodontic or dental claims management preferred) is a plus
Prior experience managing claims while working as a Treatment Coordinator is a plus
Desire to coach team members to service excellence
Work with manager and other leads to develop continuation training for the Claims Team and the operation teams as needed
