Travelers Haven is looking for a strong leader to develop and grow our Hotel Group  department. The Hotel Group Manager is primarily responsible for building Hotel partnerships and negotiating the best rates possible for our clients, as well as, growing our Hotel Goup Operations team. This position requires strong performance management skills as well as strong negotiating skills.

Summary/Objective:

This position is responsible for negotiating discounted rates and commissions with hotel properties on a local, regional, and national level. The manager will directly manage a team of hotel coordinators and account managers. Performance management and training are two strong skill sets required for the people manager side of the position.

 Essential Functions

  • Oversee the prospecting, identifying, rate negotiation and closing of new large brand hotel partnerships.
  • Build strategic relationships with hoteliers and other vendors
  • Manage the team responsible for securing reservations, processing appropriate forms and payments in a timely manner, and negotiating changes to client agreements.
  • Personally develop strong, long-term relationships and referrals with senior management at targeted accounts and implement strategies for expanding the company’s current customer base.
  • Partners with senior leadership to identify opportunities for internal process optimization.
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Be a role model for the company culture

 Competency:

  • At least 4 years’ people leadership experience in a corporate housing, hotel or OTA environment
  • Proven large scale rate negotiation experience
  • Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels
  • Proven ability to establish contacts and relationships with potential customers and partners
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create results driven, team oriented environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s Degree a plus

 Additional Eligibility Qualification:

  • Proven track record of negotiating rates
  • Experience working at corporate housing, hotel or OTA

Supervisory Responsibilities: Team of 7

Travel: very minimum travel required
