We are looking for a growth strategist and online marketer with experience in partnerships, email marketing, analytics, content marketing and all aspects of "growth hacking."
We are a small in-office team (you'd be the fifth employee) but we have thousands of writers from all over the US servicing customers from all over the world. Our customers know that content is crucial, but they don't have time to write, so they turn to our crowd of writers and our easy-to-use platform. We have been growing fast, our platform is stable, and now it's time to turbocharge. Our target market is HUGE — more than 10 million small businesses — so there's plenty of room for growth in a market that's growing very fast.
You must be able to be focus on our need to reach new customers. Excellent facility required in Google Analytics, and other tracking tools. Experience with Adwords and other display/social ad platforms required. If you can do a bit of your own HTML, CSS, Photoshop and SQL, all the better.
You must have a demonstrated project from every chapter of this book. You must have either wanted to be at this event, or you were there and now you follow most of the speakers closely and aspire to be a speaker next time by out-innovating all of them in the next six months. We want someone who will Lean In.
You must be able to get us integrated with Hibu here, Wix here, and Squarespace and GoDaddy somewhere. Also integrate us with Moz, perhaps here (or perhaps someplace even better), LinkedIn perhaps here or perhaps just by engaging more on the forums. There are certainly dozens of others that BlogMutt could integrate with.
You should have experience working with engineers and designers to construct, test and optimize landing pages and user-flows.
You must be impressed with people like this, this and this, but savvy enough to know that these kind of people just go too far. Affiliate marketers lie somewhere in the middle, are they worth any effort? Make the case, and we'll listen.
We are in the HubSpot Marketplace and we write guest posts for that blog and HubSpot account managers all know us. The same should be true for Marketo, and a 75-100 other players in the marketing automation world. Marketing automation is great, but none of it works if businesses don't blog. Most people can't write, so BlogMutt is the magic that makes all those marketing automation tools work. Can you help get that word out?
We're building a top-secret widget right now that will go into the WordPress marketplace. It should be huge, with your help. After that should come Magento and a dozen others after that. Have you run that kind of effort before? We need to have a great user workflow and also a great strategy to get the word out about this new tool.
Every time a list like this comes out, you'll have done the work to make sure BlogMutt is on it.
We want to grow in customers, but to help the customers we need to recruit more writers and increase engagement with our current writers. That won't be your direct responsibility, but we need to make sure that everything you do is at least consistent with those goals, and doesn't do anything to alienate our writers, who are the heart of BlogMutt. We like them so much we make the best ones co-owners.
At the peak of your game, you could come across a blog like this, it might lead you to a niche guy like this, and it would lead you to maybe use tools like this and perhaps even one of these to come up with something that's not only the world's best linkbait, but is totally useful for a huge chunk of the web.
