Events & Programming Intern
As the Golden Triangle Campus of Galvanize continues to grow and host more exciting programs and events for its members and the greater Denver Startup community, we are looking to add a rockstar intern to support the events team as soon as possible!
From booking meetings, to coordinating meetups, hosting companies from Silicon Valley and curating programs for our community members, this position will provide opportunities for both creativity and skill development. Plus you'll be working in the most exciting industry in Denver alongside some of Denver's most innovative tech startups!
Responsibilities include:
- Answering event inquiries
- Communicating details and needs of each event with the Galvanize Events manager and Gather Events manager
- Scheduling meetings and events (calendar management)
- Creating Event Orders and learning budget management
- Creating timelines for important planning deadlines (has Credit Card info been collected, room been booked, food orders processed, etc.)
- Attend events to gain first hand experience of event execution
- Manage simple marketing announcements (tweets, Facebook posts) for upcoming events
- Reports directly to the Galvanize Events & Program Director
Requirements:
- Student, ideally in hospitality and events (unpaid, for college credit)
- 15 hours/week and can be conducted partially remotely
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and problem solve on the fly
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Some events management or planning experience beneficial but not required
The internship is slated to be 6 months long, but is flexible based off of availability and academic schedules.
