Summary

The Payroll Processor is responsible for all activities related to the preparation of payroll.  The ideal candidate for this hands-on position will be highly motivated, detail-oriented and able to work with general supervision.  The position requires a high level of customer service and communication skills.

 Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish payroll processing activities
  • Ensure data from SAP timekeeping is properly interfaced into payroll system
  • Reconcile payroll register with timekeeping reports to ensure accuracy
  • Process multi state payroll for 1000+ employees
  • Create and run various reports out of payroll system as requested by management
  • Process 401(k) funding and support testing of compliance at year end
  • Process H S A funding and support testing of compliance at year end
  • Assist with audits and inquiries as necessary
  • Process garnishments in payroll system
  • Calculate and input Short Term Disability payments for employees on Leave of Absence
  • Assist with year-end tasks related to W-2 processing
  • Perform year-end processing and reconciliation of payroll accounts
  • Understand company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
  • Respond to employee questions and troubleshooting issues regarding payroll
  • Serve as liaison between human resources and accounting
  • Create Journal Entry related to payroll and stock runs
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts related to Payroll monthly
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 0-3 years of hands-on payroll experience
  • Workday experience preferred, including payroll processing and reporting
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to be able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Multi-state payroll experience preferred
  • Government payroll experience a plus
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or Accounting preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with SAP systems a plus
  • Strong Excel is required
  • Excellent organizational skills with concern for detail and accuracy
  • International payroll experience a plus
  • Understand government regulations
