Job Summary: 

As an Engineering Program Manager you will plan, lead, and manage engineering projects/programs. You will take an active role in leading cross functional teams within NetApp's matrixed organization, focused on driving program execution from definition through successful release to the greater Product Operations organization. This role will be instrumental in making operational excellence the status quo via strong data driven project controls and common sense process/practices. This is a challenging position working in a very fast paced environment, with the opportunity to work collaboratively with like professionals in the ProdOps organization to positively influence greater business outcomes. 

Essential Functions: 

- Engage stakeholders across NetApp/SolidFire Product Operations for requirements, services, and enhancement projects. 
- Improve key processes (DevOps, Automation, Build & Release) with a customer satisfaction driven model. 
- Enhance operational maturity through data driven KPIs and improve communication across ProdOps. 
- Identify and communicate project scope and ensure program milestones/objectives are met. 
- Keep management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results. 
- Analyze problems and drive solutions involving multiple elements of program planning. 
- Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes and initiate process improvements as needed.

Requirements: 

- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. 
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required. 
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined metrics requirements. 
- Demonstrated experience working with hardware and software engineers. 
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices. 
- Creative approach to problem solving. 
- Program Management training or demonstrated experience. 

Responsibility: 
- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions. 
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems. 

Interaction: 
- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within ProdOps as well as the technical team on assigned projects. There will be communication with employees in other functions as required. 
- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities. 
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching, influencing, and organizing others as well as technical competence and persistence.

Education & Experience: 

- A minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience is required. 
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required. 
- Depth in various methodologies (PMP, Agile, Lean, ITIL, etc.). 
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex projects. 
- DevOps or Systems Admin experience is a plus.Posting Category
