We are currently searching for a Product Development Manager at our Denver, CO corporate headquarters to manage all pre-production functions for the quilting category. This position will lead the design process and is responsible for the transition of product from design conception through to the point of production. This position requires a high level of understanding of print design, fabric development, process management, and a proactive/resourceful approach to deliver results in a fast-paced business.
 
As a Fabric Product Development Manager you will:
  • Collaborate with Director of Merchandising to conceptualize a comprehensive assortment offering aligned with financial goals for the category
  • Conceptualize a high volume of fabric collections spanning multiple fabric aesthetics
  • Prepare development packages/pitch sheets to execute design concepts for each collection with external design partners
  • Develop and manage to product development timelines to hit aggressive production and product launch dates 
  • Evaluate and edit designs submitted by external design partners to ensure they are aligned with the strategic intent for the collection(s)
  • Manage all color development and approvals to provide consistency throughout the assortment offering
  • Submit product for quality testing and review results for quality assurance
  • Manage / evaluate performance of existing external design partners and source new design talent to aggressively grow new collection counts
  • Exhibit a collaborative spirit that showcases your strength as a communicator and creative problem solver
  • Be the resident expert on trend research and consumer insights within the quilting category
Your background will likely include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Preference given to candidates with 5+ years of experience in Product Development, Design, or Manufacturing in Textiles
  • Experience with executing textile designs across multiple consumer segments / aesthetics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in creating/editing fabric designs with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Illustrator 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with aggressive timelines
  • Clear and effective written, verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven analytical skills and enthusiasm for incorporating data-driven decision making in the design process
  • Prefer a candidate whose resume indicates he/she has excelled amongst an elite peer group
