Craftsy is looking for a Director of Operations to join our Production Operations team. Our Director of Operations will plan, coordinate and project manage hundreds of tasks within the complex workflow that drives the development and production of our educational content. This role will require an exceptional ability to dive in and understand the processes, roles and activities associated with each step so that we can continue to analyze, optimize and adapt through change and with increasing expectations. We’re looking for someone who will not shy away from digging into the details to deliver day-to-day progress but who will also have the ability to think critically and strategically to improve the utilization of production resources in the midst of rapidly evolving category and product strategy goals. An analytical mindset and the ability to use data and metrics to identify, recommend and measure key outcomes is critical.  
 
As our Director of Operations, you will:
  • Oversee the project management, system and resource/studio utilization for the end to end workflow, inclusive of content & education and production operations activities including:
    • Creating and managing production schedules
    • Developing crew assignments
    • Administering system training
    • System enhancements (auditing, template design, notifications, etc.)
  • Optimize utilization of production resources in line with team and company objectives
  • Use data and metrics to identify process improvement opportunities, plan resource roadmaps, build & coordinate schedules, track production and content resource utilization and align budgets
  • Use scheduling software (Workfront) to create and manage schedules for multiple disciplines, create dashboards for analytical reporting, and design templates
  • Create short and long term strategies for growth, flexibility and new business
  • Work hand in hand with Production and Content & Education to reduce complexities of scale with the goal of optimizing on the dimensions of speed, cost, and quality
Your background and experience will likely include, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Experience in process/project management and workforce/resource planning for complex teams and workflows
  • Experience in a video production/operations environment a plus
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate and work in a high-pressure, team oriented environment
  • Clear trajectory of progression into roles of increasing scope and responsibilities
  • Evidence of ability to solve and work through problems that are similar to those at Craftsy (scalability, standardization, fast growth, etc.)
  • Experience working with, presenting to or influencing senior leadership and external clients in addition to peer group and/or internal team
  • Evidence of team leadership and results within that capacity
  • Strong analytical skills
    • ability to ask the right questions and frame the right problem vs. the most obvious problem
    • ability to use data to formulate and test hypothesis
    • ability to clearly communicate using data   
  • Proactive problem solver capable of framing/identifying issues and generating solutions, desire and energy to continuously learn and improve
  • Experience or interest in developing educational content with clear learning objectives
  • Demonstrated expertise required in the tools/systems used by the team
