 About Guild Education:

The pathway to a stable career is changing in the U.S. & many young adults are struggling to navigate that path. We believe that everyone - not just the fortunate few - deserve a great start to their working lives. We offer job training & education pathways to set our Guild members up for a great career, with a community to support them along the way.

Some facts that motivate us:

  • Over 70% of of undergraduate students are working while in school, but their programs rarely connect to what they’re learning professionally.

  • Those same students can’t financially “work their way through college” anymore - working full time at minimum wage earns only $15K per year - far less than average college tuition.

  • Despite record-high job openings, 46% of college grads get stuck in dead-end, low-wage jobs.

  • And this generation is expected to hold 27 jobs in their lifetime, without a single company or union to guide them through that journey.

Guild wants to be a guide for all students.

Headquartered in the Bay Area, The Guild wants to be that guide. We believe that all young adults - not just those who go to elite schools - deserve a great start to their working lives. We offer job training to set our Guild members up for a great career and we provide a community that will support them along the way. We need your help to do both.

More on the job:

  • As our founding Director of Engineering, you’ll not only get to drive our product strategy, but you’ll also get to help us build a great culture and recruit amazing talent onto your team.

  • We’re building technology to support our Guild members as they move throughout their career. We need your help expanding our basic online offerings to give students a seamless online experience, as good, if not better, than the face-to-face programs we currently offer.

  • You will actively participate in day-to-day development, architecture and project planning.

  • You’ll have the platform to use your strong business and technical vision and translate that into business and technical solutions.

The Product will include (some built, some bought):
    • A basic learning management system (LMS) and student information system (SIS)

    • Tools to facilitate online coaching - video & messaging - and a progress dashboard

    • Substantial integration with Saleforce, both for our own features and integrating with existing technologies built on Salesforce.

    • Portfolio management tools - saving documents, projects, videos

    • Data analytics and tracking tools to help scale our coaching model

We hope you:

  • Want to join a small, fast-growing company where you can have a big impact

  • Love learning and can bring that spirit to our company and the Guild community

  • Have a customer-centric view and want to get to know our students

  • Want to work on technology that improves the lives of people who need it most

  • Have technical expertise to help us navigate build vs. buy decisions for our early products, and the ability to manage the buildout of our early technology

  • Have experience working in a product management capacity creating product and technology roadmaps

  • Experience working with Salesforce is a plus

Don’t have an education technology background? Cool! We love interdisciplinary thinking, and welcome newcomers. We do, however, want someone who’s interested in how technology can best support coaching, learning & personal development for a broad & diverse community of students.

Why us?

  • We’re a mission-driven company with a proven business model & product vision that addresses a massive problem and market opportunity. It’s our goal to to support as many Guild members as possible and change the world along the way.

  • We’ve recently closed our $2M seed round, and we’re eager to bring new members to our team who can help us keep up with our growth

  • The investors & advisors backing us are world class - we hope you’ll have an opportunity to learn from them alongside us

  • Our co-founders have worked together for long time and are committed to building a community and company where we all love to work
