Role Purpose 

To live up to our company’s mission, we are wholeheartedly committed to delivering a differentiated product assortment to passionate Quilting and Sewing consumers. As a Designer, you will play a critical role in determining and executing surface designs for new fabric collections. The designer will be responsible for providing original artwork concepts, reproduction selections and adaptations, as well as partnering with external design resources as needed. 

Responsibilities 

• Design private label fabric collections. Create production ready artwork files for conventional and digital printing methods on a variety of fabric substrates.  
• Partner with buying and merchandising teams to understand design and development needs on a quarterly basis.  
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new design trends, production techniques, and customer preferences.  
• Develop and maintain a network of business contacts. Manage external design relationships.  
• Partner with project kit development teams to understand execution of fabric collections in final project kits.  
• Provide CAD support for quilts and additional small projects.  
• Manage daily priorities and responsibilities based on current initiatives and production timelines.

Basic Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in art or design. (e.g. graphic design, fashion design, etc.) 
• 3+ years experience in designer role in a fast paced environment.  
• Ability to balance creative thinking and tactical execution.  
• Understanding of basic fabric printing techniques (conventional and digital) 
• Strong communication skills paired with the ability to provide and receive feedback.  
• Ability to create designs driven by data. 
• Advanced skills of Adobe CC (particularly AI, PSD, and ID) 
• BONUS points for quilting and/or sewing skills

〈 Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

〈 Strong eye for all things design, patterns, color, trends. 
〈 Strong communication skills and ability to pitch original concepts. 
〈 Ability to convert data to design. Identify what our customer wants and bring these concepts to life. 
〈 Desire to build and maintain strong internal and external design relationships 
〈 A collaborative spirit.
