The Role:

The Demand Planning Analyst owns the forecast function, continuously improving forecasting processes and methodologies. This position functions as a member of the Operations team, working closely with the Supply Planning Analyst and regularly collaborating with the Sales team to develop accurate customer forecasts, analyze historical data and provide insights to drive effective demand planning strategies. This position requires extensive experience in forecast and demand analytics, strong communication skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the sales team to gather customer forecasting inputs and validate forecast accuracy.
  • Participates in sales meetings and calls, providing analytical support and insights to the Sales team as needed.
  • Utilizes trend data, historical sales data, and other relevant metrics to develop accurate demand forecasts.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to understand market dynamics, customer behavior, and product trends.
  • Develops and analyzes short term forecast and promotional volume utilizing trends, promotional plans, marketing plans, and customer inventory levels.
  • Develops forecasts for all products to include new product rollouts and line extensions.
  • Generates reports and presentations to communicate forecast results, trends, and insights to stakeholders.
  • Presents forecast data and recommendations cross-functionally to support decision making processes.
  • Maintains scorecard data to monitor and optimize forecast performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Proactively identifies areas for process improvement and implements solutions to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in data analysis, statistical modeling, and forecasting techniques.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify trends.
  • Must possess advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel to include utilizing pivot tables, v-lookup, etc.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication styles to meet the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to effectively present data and insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in forecast and demand analytics, preferably in a fast-paced consumer goods environment.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, or similar reporting tools.
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with large retailers on Demand Planning (such as Target, Walmart, Best Buy, etc.)
