Our mission is to empower people who can't help but create! Combining cutting-edge expertise in digital marketing, technology, content and ecommerce, Craftsy is a proud new member of the NBCUniversal family. Armed with new partners and infinite possibilities, we’re eager to continue building a customer-first lifestyle learning brand for passionate makers. We are looking for a highly analytical, customer-oriented Business Intelligence / Data Warehouse Developer to support our new data warehouse and reporting platform. We recently launched a brand new website, requiring a full rebuild of our data and reporting platform, and need your help to enhance these impactful tools.

From the start, you can expect to….
  • Support the analysis, design, architecture, and development of our new data warehouse and reporting solution
  • Take a consultative approach with business users, asking questions to understand the business need and deriving the data flow, logical, and physical data models based on those needs
  • Demonstrate proficient use of data analysis, data integration, and data visualization techniques that inform and accelerate decision-making
  • Design and develop dimension and fact tables using standard methodologies and become an authority on our data warehouse model
  • Develop ad hoc queries/analyses in support of business needs
  • Support for analytics tools (Excel, Looker, Google Analytics)

In the ideal applicant we’re looking for...
  • 1-3 years development experience
  • Advanced SQL development skills
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and architecture, including change data capture best practices
    • BONUS: Experience with data virtualization
  • Strong customer service skills; experience effectively interacting with a diverse team of people
  • Proactively and productively able to deal with changes in requirements and timelines
  • Affinity for chocolate covered pretzels and seltzer water

To be considered for the role, please submit…
  • Your resume, of course! Share your professional experiences and top accomplishments in one page.
  • Answers to the following questions in place of a traditional cover letter:
    • If you had to pick one, would you consider yourself a developer, a data modeler or an internal consultant. Why?
    • What is your favorite SQL function and why?
