Craftsy continues to rapidly grow its online class and supplies offerings leading to a higher demand in reporting requests of our data team. We’re looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Engineer to help us as we scale our business. Now is an exciting time to join Craftsy as we’re in the process of rebuilding our Java monolith into a services-based architecture. This creates an opportunity for us to re-evaluate our data warehouse and ETL architecture and this role will be instrumental in supporting Craftsy in this transition.
 
As our Data Warehouse Engineer, you will:
  • Support the design, development, and enhancement of existing and new data warehouse
  • Navigate, understand, and leverage existing complex data structures
  • Work directly with internal customers to create and manage requirements
  • Demonstrate proficient use of data analysis, data integration, and data visualization techniques that inform and accelerate decision-making
  • Develop and deliver both oral and written communications on key findings, conclusions, and recommendations for business owners
  • Work with team to create a formal Master Data Management process with focus on enhancement and enrichment of the data
  • Design and develop dimension and fact tables using standard methodologies
  • Work with team to create/maintain automated ETL processes with special focus on data flow, error recovery, and exception handling and reporting
  • Build and maintain complex ETL processes 
  • Provide ad hoc request support
  • Have fun while accomplishing the above
Your background and experience will likely include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Must have 2+ years development experience
  • Strong SQL development skills including stored procedures
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts and architecture, including change data capture best practices
  • Strong customer service skills; experience effectively interacting with a diverse team of people
  • Experience with working with ETL technologies such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS or CloverETL
  • Experience with NetSuite is a big plus
  • Experience building ETL against NoSQL platform is a plus
  • Affinity for chocolate covered pretzels and pac man is a plus
  • Positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done
  • Must be flexible in dealing with changes in requirements and timelines
