The Data Management and Analytics team charter is to provide data analysis and management services to the entire organization for the purpose of generating actionable decisions. Data-driven decision making is vital to help internal and external customers looking to increase efficiency and quality. The data analysts will develop and implement analysis and reporting capabilities, and they will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. 

Successful candidates are friendly, curious, excited by new technology, detail oriented, flexible, and team focused. A data analyst joining this team should have strong adaptive skills, be able to move quickly, enjoy learning new tools and sharing their knowledge, and be willing to adapt with a dynamic environment. 

Essential Functions: 

- Programmatically collect and interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports. 
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics pipelines, and other mechanisms that optimize the efficiency and quality of data-driven decision making processes. 
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources while maintaining databases/data systems. 
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. 
- Develop data pipelines that include the filtering and cleaning of data based on specific use cases and situational contexts. 
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs. 
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.

Requirements: 

- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential. 
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required. 
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. 
- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL, etc.), and programming (XML, ETL frameworks). 
- Experience with AWS Redshift, DynamoDB, Hive, Cassandra, Bigtable, or other big data stores. 
- Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages,tools and/or languages for analyzing datasets (Python, Matlab, R, Scala, Weka, e.t.c.) 
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. 
- Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings. 
- BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics 
- Creative approach to problem solving. 

Responsibility: 

- The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions. 
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems. 

Interaction: 

- This individual must work effectively in a team with all level of employees within ProdOps. There will be communication with employees in other functions as required. 
- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities. 
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through technical competence and persistence.

Education & Experience: 
- A minimum of 8 years of proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst. 
- BS in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics 
is required. 
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex projects.
