We’re building a new way to explore the world by engaging the public to look at amazing, current DigitalGlobe imagery and help identify important objects and exciting events all over the planet. Our solution brings together thousands of online users to crowdsource the world.

Our Tomnod crowdsourcing app is powered by millions of inputs from thousands of users. We use the system to find objects, identify features, and validate machine-learning results. Powerful proprietary algorithms then sift through each team member's findings, compare them against each other, and generate a highly reliable set of results.  As we integrate Tomnod into Digitalglobe’s GBDX platform, we are using it more and more to generate training data and validate our growing ecosystem of automated algorithms that make sense of our huge archive of satellite imagery.

We are looking for a motivated & highly qualified individual to join the Platform Crowdsourcing team as lead-engineer & manager.  For us, the candidate fulfills ALL the following requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

(a)5+ years experience in a technical, team-lead and/or management role

(b)Experience with cloud technologies and/or distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

(c) Experience leading & organizing professional software development teams;

(d) 'Make-it-happen' attitude, the innate capacity for ownership and timely delivery of results in a fast-paced environment;

(e) Experience with Amazon Web Services;

(f) Experience building scalable & reliable systems.

We expect this candidate to quickly ramp up and perform these duties:

(g) Lead the dev team by building a comprehensive roadmap that supports various priorities.

(h) Improve system scalability, security, and take advantage of newly developed services.

(i) Find & fix exploits, detect & block malicious users.

(j) Work closely with production teams to support crowdsourcing projects
