Our mission at Craftsy is to become the premier global destination for curated education, inspiration and supplies for passionate enthusiast “makers.” Combining best-in-class expertise in educational design, video production, technology, and digital marketing, Craftsy is one of the fastest growing and most successful start-ups in the US in the past 4 years. We’ve raised over $100MM from the world-class investors who backed Facebook, LinkedIn, and Blue Apron. Located in Denver, CO, we offer an exciting work environment, stock options, and all the latest technologies. We are one of the Top Places to Work in Denver and have been on Forbes list of America’s Most Promising Companies for 2014 & 2015.

Craftsy’s consumer insights group has the exciting and challenging goal of enhancing initiatives across the company through smart, timely, and actionable insights and strategy straight from our customers. Craftsy is seeking a highly effective project manager with 2-3 years experience (with at least 1 year of studying user behavior within consumer tech or a related field, to support all aspects of this small but growing team). Ideally, this candidate would have experience designing, drafting, fielding and analyzing survey research. S/he will also be able to work cross-functionally, translate ambiguous research questions into structured research plans, and build trust with a variety of teams and stakeholders.

As our Consumer Insights Associate, you will:
  • Adeptly manage projects by keeping research on schedule, coordinating with multiple internal stakeholders, and delivering actionable insights that advance important company initiatives
  • Scope, design and manage multiple survey research projects simultaneously
  • Get your hands dirty by programming surveys, recruiting research participants, and simultaneously managing several detail-oriented projects
  • Dig into data and emerge with compelling and clear evidence-based stories that other Craftsy teams can easily understand and leverage directly in their own work
  • Push to advance your own skill-set and the capacity of our team in order to provide new and increasingly more effective research

Your background and experience will likely include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • 2-3 years experience with at least 1 year working in consumer insights, market research, or user experience research for a consumer-focused business or market research firm.  Extra credit for experience with online consumer tech products and/or experience working for a small to medium size company
  • Ideal candidate has focused on survey methodology and has experience designing, drafting, fielding and analyzing survey research
  • Ideal candidate has experience developing processes or managing programs. Bonus points for managing customer-focused programs like consumer advisory panels or “Voice of the Customer” initiatives
  • A passion for understanding our customer.  You are the type of person who is constantly wondering “how does this work?” or “why is this done this way?” — meaning you are strongly empathetic and curious
  • A data-driven mind that is comfortable working in large data-sets and teasing out insights from across multiple sources of data
  • The ability to step back and understand how an insight or observation fits within the broader business objective
  • A startup person at heart (even if you don’t have startup experience) who is flexible, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to take on many diverse roles at once
  • Strong Excel and Powerpoint skills required.  Experience with an online survey tool, SPSS, STATA, Python, or R a plus but not required
