About the Role
We are looking for a Compliance Manager to lead compliance initiatives required to ensure OrthoFi complies with outside regulatory requirements and internal policies. The Compliance Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and legal experts in areas including Fair Debt Collection Practices, HIPAA, Protection of Personally Identifiable Information, Payment Card Industry Security Standards, and Insurance Processing.
This position will include a competitive salary and benefits, and may be eligible to earn stock options based on individual contribution and company performance. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Oversee and monitor activities for compliance with company, state, and federal regulations.
Research new and existing laws, regulations, policies, and industry standards and identify existing and emerging business practice issues and risks of company.
Propose solutions relating to compliance requirements that impact the company's products and services.
Evaluate the adequacy of internal control and identify inefficient business processes that hinder compliance.
Lead organizational groups, including legal, subject matter experts, and IT teams in confirming compliance
Design, develop and execute plans for monitoring security and privacy of data
Handle requests for protected information, complaints, and tips about breaches.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
5+ Years experience in business operations or law with an emphasis on Collections or Healthcare
Professional certification in one or more related fields including HIPAA, Collections, PCI is a plus.
Prior experience in a compliance role is a plus.
Healthcare and/or Insurance Service experience is a plus
Expert level analytic skills
Strong communication skills
Proficient with MS Office and/or Google Products
