We are currently looking for a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our dynamic, growing team.

The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Voqal Leadership Team and is responsible for the financial health of the Voqal companies and the limited liability companies they own. This position is a steward of the non-profit companies’ assets, oversees the accounting and tax processes, and reports and analyses performance.

Requirements:

  • CPA required and at least 5 years of experience in a strategic CFO role.
  • Experience participating as a member of an executive or leadership team.
  • Experience working with boards of directors and nonprofit finance oversight required.
  • Deferred revenue and partner accounting skills required.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management

  • Oversee fiscal year end audits.
  • Oversee the preparation of Federal and state income and franchise tax returns including Non-Profit Forms 990 and LLC Forms 1065s by the applicable deadlines. Authorized to sign LLC tax returns for FSM, PTVF, EBSSS and I.S. Works with COO for the signing of 501(c)(4) entities and MC LLC.
  • Present (via website) company financials to boards of the five nonprofit companies on a quarterly basis for all existing companies, generally prepared using the management reporting method of accounting.
  • Provides financial analysis for major company decisions.
  • Holds periodic reviews with outside accountants to review the need to file income and franchise tax returns in various states.
  • Reviews bank reconciliations monthly.
  • Ex Officio member of the EBS Financial Advisory Committee.
  • Complies with known federal, state and local legal requirements.

Investment Oversight

  • Monitor investments with Investment Advisor currently totaling more than $50 million and oversees the preparation of reports to the boards of directors.
  • Help the boards review and revise investment policies, including both economic objectives and social investment policy.
  • Monitoring and reporting of the member-owned LLC investments.
  • Support and reporting of program aligned investments made by the Education Venture Fund.

Administrative Leadership and Management

  • Active participant on the Voqal Leadership Team.
  • Serve as a business partner to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and department directors on the organizations’ financial, budgeting and administrative processes with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems, including internal controls.
  • Development of the five nonprofit companies’ annual budgets in cooperation with COO.
  • Development of annual LLC budgets in conjunction with the COO.
