Hi, I'm Erin and I'm delighted to be adding a new team member to our Content & Production staff at such a dynamic time for the business.
We’re currently exploring opportunities for diversifying the types of content we produce to ensure every interaction our customers have with Craftsy is learning-fueled. Partnering broadly across the marketing and eCommerce teams, the Category Editor, Knitting & Crochet will support this goal while also serving as the voice for the knitting and crochet audiences internally at Craftsy.
Working across content, production and marketing teams while in close collaboration with eCom colleagues where required, the category editor is responsible for the acquisition, development and positioning of content in front of the Craftsy customer. The category editor serves to be an expert in the category(ies) he or she is responsible for and prioritizes building strong relationships with experts and staying on top of emerging trends. The category editor works to ensure paid and free content merchandised by Craftsy is differentiated and on brand.
Here's a taste of what you'll accomplish in this role:
Content & Strategy
- Acquire, scope and design content which reflects core Craftsy brand attributes, especially expertise and detail of instruction
- Devise and evolve content to support strategic objectives on category landing pages
- Develop contributing editor networks in your categories, and leverage those networks to fuel innovation which supports Craftsy’s strategic goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pitch new content formats, frames and structures to support business objectives and new business models
Merchandising
- Program, design and execute with text, image and video content bi-monthly category landing pages in accordance with marketing and merchandising strategy
- Build a pipeline of ideas designed to further Craftsy’s category goals and objectives
Collaboration & Culture
- Serve as the primary category resource throughout the organization
- Collaborate with eComm to ensure synergy between digital and physical offerings
- Collaborate with BD to ensure that category-specific partnerships are smoothly executed

Here's a rundown of what we're looking for in ideal candidates:
- Experience designing, teaching and/or writing educational content
- Demonstrated editorial expertise in an elite online environment
- Professional expertise or a personal passion for knitting and/or crochet
- Flexibility, ability to work across multiple organizational functions with distinct goals
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Writing experience, particularly with a focus on merchandising or marketing
