Backend Engineer - 6 mos Contract
Havenly is looking for experienced Backend Software Engineers to work in our Denver HQ. What You’ll Do:- Design, develop and maintain the core of our PHP and node backend
- Help us build new features by modelling complex real life problems into elegant data structures
- Develop new systems to efficiently process, exchange and filter large quantities of data
- Develop, enhance, and debut RESTful APIs
- Identify and address performance issues
- Production issues support, including a spot on our illustrious on-call rotation.
- Work with our entire team to help provide a consistent, fast, and delightful experience to our customers and designers.
- Expert level knowledge in PHP and node
- Experience with Apigility, Doctrine, CakePHP, Zend Framework 2 and Express a plus
- Experience working with application performance monitoring data like New Relic to help guide your design/fix decisions
- Experience writing automated tests in PHPUnit, Selenium or TestCafe.
- Experience building scalable backend systems to support a product-driven organization
- Experience maintaining an AWS-backed infrastructure
- Have experience developing, scaling and monitoring RESTful APIs and have used supporting tools like Postman
- Strong experience designing schemas, indexes and tuning performance on relational databases like MySQL
