SendGrid is seeking a business-oriented, experienced corporate attorney to join our legal department. As the second member of the team, you’ll be responsible for a wide variety of matters, including commercial/vendor/sales agreements, corporate governance, HR issues, real estate, intellectual property management, employee equity and more. We are looking for someone who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, able to switch gears quickly, service oriented, and not afraid to be decisive. You will report to the General Counsel and be based in our Denver office.

What You’ll Do
  • Act as a key business partner to and work closely with all departments at SendGrid, including sales (this will be the priority), business development, R&D, finance, HR and marketing
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on a variety of legal agreements, including commercial contracts, distribution agreements, vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements and consulting agreements
  • Understand SendGrid’s domestic and international business strategy to provide proactive, responsive and timely legal support that advances the business’s objectives while appropriately managing business, legal and regulatory risks
  • Negotiate and draft complex contracts and create/administer templates for routine contracts
  • Identify risks and mitigating actions
  • Build and manage legal processes in conjunction with other functional leads
  • Assist in managing the relevant budget for both internal and external resources

About You
  • Creative, flexible and experienced corporate lawyer with business-oriented outlook and technology company experience
  • Skilled at drafting, negotiating and interpreting commercial and corporate agreements
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently, shift focus, adapt to changing priorities, maintain patience in high-pressure situations and take initiative where appropriate
  • Ability to collaborate, interact with, and influence members at all levels of the company, including executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable navigating complicated and nuanced issues
  • Honest, Hungry, Humble and Happy
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • 4 to 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Admitted to the Colorado or California Bar
