Summary

The Collection Planning Analyst function is a part of the Supply Chain Management organization.  The Collection Planning Analyst manages regional and global collection objectives that support existing and potential satellite tasking requirements for DigitalGlobe’s customers using a variety of technical systems, business intelligence, weather and climate data, and collaboration with internal and external customers. Independent judgment and the ability to dynamically balance competing resources are critical to accomplishing daily tasks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • The role is responsible for developing, executing, and sustaining DG’s collection strategy in coordination with the Mission Analysts, Regional Analysts, Project Managers, Business Intelligence teams, Revenue Management, and Product teams.
  • Daily coordination with Customers, Regional Collection Planning Analysts, Project Managers, and Production Coordinators to ensure successful end to end product fulfillment.
  • Monitoring and managing collection performance
  • Establishing and reporting Key Performance Indicators to guide decisions on satellite resource allocations to various projects.
  • Providing effective communication with team members, cross-departmental staff and customers regarding status, milestones, issues and resolution
  • Escalating operational issues as needed with SCM management, Engineering, and Technical Support teams
  • Providing occasional support outside of regular shifts as required to support a 24/7 Operations environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience – Geography, Geospatial, or Engineering degree preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of Geospatial experience
  • Experience working with ArcMap or other GIS applications
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
  • US Government clearance at Secret or higher REQUIRED
  • Must be open to shift changes or infrequent weekend coverage
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Skills and Experience

  • Background in satellite planning systems and processes preferred
  • Familiarity with remote sensing applications
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to support time-sensitive requirements
  • Developing corrective actions and preventative solutions
  • Knowledgeable in resource management
  • Managing deadlines and prioritize workloads
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives
