The Category Merchandiser is responsible for bringing our products to life on our website. S/he is expected to have an in-depth understanding of what makes each of our products incredibly enticing to a passionate crafter and translating that into customer communications and product positioning on our site. This entails both helping the customer appreciate something they are already interested in as well as discover things they didn’t even know they might love. This will be done using a combination of data and deep category expertise. The ideal Category Manager will be a marketer with a passion for our product and customer experience.
Responsibilities
● Direct and/or create all of the content for the Product Sell Pages including: crafting copy, directing photography, commissioning additional contextual content such as videos, SEO optimization, product meta tagging, etc.
● Create “category home pages” that highlight what’s most interesting within a category on a daily basis
● Creating landing pages that summarize our complete offering - classes, patterns, projects, supplies, articles - on a desired crafting topic
● Identify connections between our instructional videos and our physical supplies and bring those together for the customer on the website in an intuitive manner
● Use Google Analytics data to determine opportunities to improve and optimize site funnel metrics
● Use data and category knowledge to identify product assortment gaps and suggest ways to fill
● College Degree
● Extremely passionate and dedicated crafter in one of the 13 categories we offer
● Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing or merchandising, preferably at an online retailer
Eligibility Requirements
