Role

We are looking for an engineer who will own the Kapost Analytics services.  Kapost collects millions of data points a day, and we want someone who is passionate about turning data into insights.  The Kapost Analytics services are already providing people with an unprecidented level of visibility into content marketing operations.  We want you to take it to the next level.

Responsibilities

• Design data models and infrastructure to house big data
• Build query APIs that are scalable and performant
• Build systems for updating data at scale with no downtime
• Build systems that can stitch together data from multiple sources
• Build systems that integrate into our microservices architecture
• Help the product team derisk technical questions and product decisions
• Help define the deliverables and processes used by the team to achieve goals and ship new features

• Help the product and design teams build incredible user experiences to turn data into knowledge

Experience

• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals
• Solid undertanding of how to write good, maintainable software
• Track record of delivering quality software
• Experience with Ruby and Rails
• Experience with data warehousing and full text search
• Experience with ElasticSearch, MapReduce, NoSql, event sourcing, automation tools a HUGE plus

If you don’t live in/near Boulder then you’ll also be happy to know that the school systems are among the top in the state, cost of living is accessible, commutes range from the “I can’t believe I just rode my bike 5 minutes to work” to “wow, that 15 minute cross-town traffic was just a bear today” commutes, and we are a short drive (physically) from Denver. Our offices are in walking distance to top restaurants, offering great food and after-work fun.  What could be better?!
