Take Off Election Day

Given the importance of the 2016 Presidential Election, we’ve joined an effort by tech companies, initiated by Hunter Walk to get out the vote — Take off Election Day.

Following is the letter that went out to our staff at BiggerPockets this morning:

Dear Team,
As you may already know, I strongly believe in the importance of voting on Election Day. Voting is a chance to participate in our political system and voice your support for public policy and government. It is important that your voice is heard, especially in the upcoming 2016 November election.
I know your lives are busy and it can be hard to find time to vote. I am excited to let you know that we are joining the Take off Election Day Campaign to give you the time needed to vote!
BiggerPockets is recognizing Election Day, November 8th, 2016 as an unofficial holiday with 4 hours of PTO. We will be closing down the office in the afternoon to give you ample time to get out and vote at your precinct.
You can see the other companies participating here:http://takeoffelectionday.com/
If you haven’t already done so, registering to vote is easy → Go to the Secretary of State’s website and following the instructions here:https://www.sos.state.co.us/voter-classic/pages/pub/olvr/verifyNewVoter.xhtml(CO) or http://www.sos.wa.gov/elections/myvote/olvr.html (WA)
Please take this time to get out there and vote.
Thanks everyone!

Hopefully other companies will follow suit and we can make sure that 2016 has the highest turnout in US Election history.
