Built In Colorado: Our Expansion is More than a Name Change

It’s official: Built In Denver is now Built In Colorado! You’ve probably already discovered that if you’ve clicked this far, but I’m here to tell you that this rebrand is so much more than just a change of name.

I am excited to announce our relaunch because it allows us to accurately reflect what has been our mission since we started last November: to collectively connect and promote Colorado’s digital tech community.

This rebranding as Built In Colorado means that our team will be spending more time in all of Colorado’s startup hubs including Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs, so that we can partner up for some awesome events and capture stories to share throughout the state. As a statewide brand, we hope to grow the entrepreneurial efforts and the presence of digital tech startups throughout Colorado. Look out for our new Director of Community Development, Elyse Kent, and be sure to connect with her on promoting your events, jobs, and community initiatives. Share your ideas about progressing our entrepreneurial community with her, she is always looking for more opportunities to collaborate.

We aren’t at this alone, of course. We’ve had the support of some amazing organizations such as Startup Colorado, Colorado Technology Association, Denver Startup Week, Galvanize, BDNT, Colorado Innovation Network and so many others to encourage a statewide digital tech community. But our main driver always has been, and always will be, Colorado’s very own entrepreneurs, a few of which are on our Community Board and Advisory Board. Each board member brings a unique background and is deeply dedicated to connecting, educating and promoting digital entrepreneurs.

Advisory Board:

Board chair, Erik Mitisek (Co-founder, NextGreatPlace and CEO, Colorado Technology Association)

Tom Higley (CEO, Vokl)

Nancy Phillips (CEO and President, ViaWest)

Jim Deters (Founder, Galvanize)

Luke Beatty (Head of Strategic Partnerships, AOL)

David Cohen (Founder & CEO, Techstars)

Community Board:

Krista Paul (Founder and CMO, UsingMiles.com)

Chris Franks (President and CEO, Mobilify)

Avi Stopper (Co-founder, CaptainU)

Kevin Menzie (CEO, Slice of Lime)

Ben Deda (VP of Business Development, FullContact)

Tim Falls (Director of Developer Relations, SendGrid)

Without the backing of our highly experienced board and of Colorado’s startup enthusiasts (a.k.a., you!), Built In Colorado would never be where it is today, so please do not hesitate to connect with Elyse if you would like to get involved. We are looking forward to working alongside you to build Colorado’s digital tech community each and every day!
