All4Staff helps employers and new hires get to work without all the hassle

While working with the summer camp experience provider Avid4Adventure, David Secunda felt the pain of inefficient onboarding procedures. “We had to hire 250 people,” he said, with an audible groan.

Right away, he knew “this was the key piece” — that there was room for a lot more efficiency in talent acquisition.

In 2013, Secunda founded All4Staff. His new startup was designed to cater to the specific needs of employers hiring lots of seasonal or part-time employees, including a huge chunk of Colorado's economy.

[ibimage==30429==Medium==none==self==ibimage_align-left]All4Staff software takes the grueling process of vetting and documenting employees and condenses it into something that fits in a smartphone, utilizing digital signatures, electornic documents, and more. Its document library includes W4, I9, and other common government forms, and it boasts one-click integration with Paychex. (Other payroll services are promised in the near future.)

The idea took off rapidly. This year, All4Staff emerged from the Boulder Techstars accelerator, part of a group of 13 chosen from over 1,000 applicants. Now, the company has 11 clients, a strategic partner, a reseller, and a successful national beta test.

Aside from its enormous leisure industry, Colorado's startup culture and “radical transparency in dealing with investors and advisors” has also influenced Secunda's work, he said. His experience with Techstars, he said, was particularly definitive – he reminisces about it with obvious excitement.

The most significant challenge, said Secunda, has not been dealing with the regulatory aspects of HR, which he said are “in my wheelhouse.” Rather, Secunda said, All4Staff has been tested by “the diversity of requirements of various types of customers.”

As the program encounters different industries, Secunda and his four-person team will inevitably evolve.
