Free coworking day at Assembly, February 9th at 9 a.m.

Working remotely is so hot right now. While Denver’s got plenty of primo coffee shops where you can settle in and crank stuff out, you don’t always want to come home reeking of java. Swing by Assembly’s free coworking day to check out what they’ve got to offer - wifi, free coffee, tea and snacks, and community. Bonus: first-time guests get a free shirt, so you can add to your sick t-shirt collection.

Get social with GDI Boulder, February 9th at 6 p.m.

Meet the members of the Girl Develop It community at this relaxed social night. Bring a project you’re working on — code or crafts — and hang out with students and teachers interested in helping more women learn how to code. Drinks and snacks will be provided, and you’ll get to experience the elusive free Boulder parking lot.

Learn about locking down your IP, February 10th at 4 p.m.

Have a great idea for a startup? Are you worried someone may snatch it out from under you? Join Startup Denver for this interactive panel, where you’ll learn how and when to patent your idea. Patent attorney Jeff Schell will be available to answer any questions, and the group will head to happy hour once the panel’s finished.

Demystifying weather APIs, February 10th at 6 p.m.

In this workshop from Learn to Code Colorado you’ll learn the basics of APIs, so it’s perfect for beginners. Speaker James Gibson will lead attendees through tips and tricks for gaining access to APIs and walk them through the process of using and applying a weather API.

Rapid prototyping with thoughtbot’s Joshua Ogle, February 10th at 6:30 p.m.

Refresh Denver returns this week with Joshua Ogle, product designer at thoughtbot. He’ll talk about Google Ventures’ Product Design Sprint and how you can use it in rapid prototyping. Josh will also share resources created with thoughtbot to help you in put these ideas into practice.

That's it for this week. Check our events page for a comprehensive listing of Colorado tech's best events and happenings.
