Fulfilling rumours that they would be taking Denver by storm, WeWork has, reportedly, become the majority tenant of a newly completed building in the Lower Highlands.

According to the Denver Business Journal, the company will lease 65 percent of the 78,000-square-foot The Lab on Platte development. The building is located near the corner of Platte Street and 17th Street, just behind the Denver Beer Company. Interestingly, the space is directly across the street from Galvanize’s newly opened Platte Street location.

The Lab on Platte is a four story office building backing onto I-25. The building has parking in the basement and on part of the first floor. The part of the building facing 17th Street will be retail space, with the top three floors designed as office space.

This news comes just weeks after the company leased 70,000-square-feet of the still-under-construction Triangle Building on 16th Street.

A report from Business Den in May said that WeWork was planning on taking Denver by storm, opening three offices in the downtown area. That report predicted the company would open 69,000 feet of coworking space over three floors in the Triangle Building and mentioned The Lab on Platte as another target.

The last building cited as a possible WeWork location in the report was the 16M development at 16th and Market — no word on that space yet.

It is not unheard of for WeWork to open multiple coworking spaces in relatively quick succession in a single city.

New York-based WeWork operates coworking spaces around the country and the world and was recently valued at over $10 billion.
