Bits and Brews

What it is: The organizers of this event hook up vintage video games to giant projectors and pit attendees against one another. It's kind of like being 13 again, only at a bar and with beer.

When it happens: It’s supposed to happen every Thursday night starting at 7 p.m., but you’d be wise to check their Facebook page.

Where it happens: Society (1434 Blake Street)

Why you should go: Because they have an event where you have to drink a pint of beer while completing an old-school Mario Kart race. Sounds easy, right? Well there's a catch: you can’t drink and drive, so you have to stop your cart and chug, then continue racing. The loser has to buy the winner their next round.

Geeks who Drink

What it is: A pub trivia night that has been modeled after the ones they have in Ireland and the U.K. Basically, you get into a team and answer questions about everything from celebrities to bad television.

When it happens: Just about every night.

Where it happens: All over the country, but you can find the Denver schedule here.

Why you should go: It’s a great way to meet people and yell about incredibly stupid stuff. If you win you get to lord your supremacy over the losers around you. If you lose, you get to drown your sorrows in more beer.

Built in Brews

What it is: It is kind of like a tech networking event mixed with a keg party. You’re guaranteed to meet a ton of entrepreneurs, techies and all around cool people. Plus, you’ll get to check out a startup office.

When it happens: Quarterly

Where it happens: Various startup offices around Colorado. The next event is scheduled to be held at Rally Software’s offices.

Why you should go: Uh, did you not read the ‘what it is’ section? Besides, I’ll be there.
