Boulder named No. 2 city for women-owned businesses

Citing high quality of life for entrepreneurs and a strong economy, NerdWallet ranked Boulder as the No. 2 city in the U.S. for women-owned businesses. NerdWallet ranked the top 100 cities based on the percent of women-owned businesses, as well as the overarching business environment in a given city. AlchemyAPI

IBM's Watson acquires AlchemyAPI

In a move that will further help IBM's Watson computer understand how humans communicate, the New York-based company acquired Denver's AlchemyAPI, an 18-person firm that develops artifical intelligence software. Fast Company taps Colorado companies for most innovative list


Dish Network Corp., based in Douglas County, and Boulder-based startup XOAB, made Fast Company's list of the world's most innovative companies. Galvanize to support Women Who Code with 24-hour hackathon

All proceeds generated by this year's Galvanize g/Hack 24-hour hacktahon will benefit Women Who Code, Galvanize recently announced. The hackathon will commence on March 25 at 5 p.m., and more than 400 people will participate across four Galvanize campuses. Women Who Code is a nonprofit devoted to assisting women in tech.
